Frequently Asked Questions.

Where are you located?

We service the Whitefish Chain of Lakes in Crosslake, Minnesota. Our pick up locations are at the Clamshell access and Southwest Shore Drive access.

Do you need experience to rent a boat?

Renters must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license. Boating experience is helpful, but we do provide training the day of your rental and have additional training tools and links on our website. All potential drivers must be present when picking up your rental.

Do I need to sign a contract?

Yes, all boats require a contract to be signed by an adult at least 21 years of age.

Is a damage deposit required?

Yes, $1,000 damage deposit is required on your credit card the day of the rental. Physical damage is at the renter’s expense. Damage can happen but is rare if renters use the provided equipment, training and common sense.

What time do we pick up and drop off the boat?

For a full-day rental, you can arrive at the boat location at 10 am and enjoy for eight hours.

How old do you have to be to rent a boat?

We require the driver to be 21 years of age and show a valid drivers license.

What about fuel?

Boats are always clean and full of fuel at the beginning of your rental. Renters pay for the fuel used, however, we can top if off for you when you return. There are several locations on the Whitefish Chain that also sell fuel and we will provide more details the day of your rental.

Can we bring food and drinks on the boat?

Yes, but space is limited on the boat, so be realistic on what is needed. We do ask that you limit it to 1-2 coolers, 48 quart or less. Larger coolers are not allowed since they take up too much space, cut into the weight capacity and can cause damage as they shift around the boat. Drivers may not drink alcohol.

Are lifejackets required?

Yes, everyone must have a properly sized lifejacket. Children less than 10 years of age are required to wear lifejackets aboard watercraft in Minnesota when the craft is under way. We strongly recommended all kids wear them along with adults who are not strong swimmers. Each boat will have lifejackets to meet the capacity. Ski vests up to 3X are available at no charge and are required for all ages when on a towable (tube, skis, wakeboard, kneeboard…). Kids’ lifejackets are sized as follows: 0-30lbs, 30-50lbs & 50-90lbs. Please let us know the day of your rental if kids’ vests or ski vests need to be added to your boat.

Can we fish from the boat?

Yes. All of our pontoons and tritoons feature a GPS/Fish Finder, which is helpful when fishing. The “fishing models” feature live wells and different seating options for those who are more serious about fishing.

Can I bring my pet?

No. We do this out of respect for our guests who may have allergies.

Can we tow more than one item behind the boat?

No, due to safety reasons we only allow you to tow one pull behind.

What happens if I need to cancel?

A 30-day written cancellation notice is required with up to a $150 cancellation fee. No refunds on cancellations within 30-days, however high winds or rain-outs will be taken into consideration. Weather-related cancelations are determined the actual day of the rental since conditions and forecasts change.
